Angelina Jolie Has Been Nominated For NAACP Image Award

Angelina Jolie continues to rack up nominations for his role as Mariane Pearl, A Mighty Heart. It is now nominated for the NAACP Image Awards for outstanding actress. His competition in this category is Jurnee Smollett (The Great Debaters), Halle Berry (Things We Lost in the Fire), Jill Scott (Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?), And Taraji P. Henson (Talk to Me).

This is a particularly interesting since their candidacy NAACP Image Awards are generally open for African-American artists (the press release is officially the Image Awards honor those who promote diversity in the arts), and there was a real fire on Angelina playing Mariane Pearl First. His competition is very strong, especially Halle Berry was just as remarkable in his role in Things We Lost in the Fire, but it remains to be seen what happens.

The Image Awards will be presented Feb. 14 in Los Angeles, in a ceremony broadcast live on Fox (ideally, which is - we must wait and see what will happen with regard to writers strike).
